Description
ORIGIN & MATERIAL
This cushion is made from an antique hand woven french “Sac de Meunier” (flour bag), made by hemp, dyed in an earthy Yakisugi (bois brûlé) color. Those bag were used to carry wheat and flour in the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, and used by farmers. This particular bag has been restored many times, I kept it in its condition of origin in order to give unicity to the piece. The small irregularities and imperfections that this cushion might have is the result of its manual manufacturing process and part of its charm. Traces of usage are part of the natural characteristic of all our vintage textile and its history.
