Description
ORIGIN & MATERIAL
This bed-end has been made from vintage and traditional Hungarian quilt from the late 1950’S , sourced in Eastern Europe attics. Farmers used to sleep warmly in those comforter/quilt, filled originally with dry hay or hemp. This cover has been dyed in an earthy grey color – “poivre de guinée”. I worked on the back of the quilt to sublimate the natural handmade seam, part of my signature. The small irregularities and imperfections that this bedcover may have are the result of its manual manufacturing process and part of its charm.

PHILOSOPHY
All my creations are unique, entirely handmade, with vintage hemp found in Europe and more particularly in France and in the eastern Europe countries.
All the hemp pieces sourced are on average between 50 and 120 years old.
Once the hemp piece is cleaned and prepared, I decide either to keep it natural or to dye it in organic and natural, earthy colors.
My signature: to sublimate a defect in the material, a seam, a weaving defect, a patch…
Sensitive to the protection of our environment, and the questioning of overabundance and superfluity, I work in a sustainable and up-cycling approach.
My goal is to give a second life to high quality fabrics, hand woven in an ancestral way, to pay tribute to the work of man.
Buy it if you heartily share this philosophy with us.
